Daily Diet - Day 17

Breakfast - Dark Chocolate digestive biscuits and tea

Lunch - Leftover vegetable stir fry with prawns, Sweet Peppers with Humous

Snack - Carrots (occasionally dipped into humous) I did not finish that entire bag

Afternoon Snack - Dark chocolate digestive biscuit and tea

Dinner - Slice of roast beef, small portion of pasta and Tabuleh

Today was another decent day. I had gone running the day before and was all geared up with my ‘planned’ lunch and snacks. The carrots and red peppers are an amazing and much needed addition to the whole ‘need to crunch on something’ sensation. Not cookies, not crisps, nothing like that. Just carrots and peppers. I have had a distinct craving for the digestive biscuit but not so much for the crunch as the saltiness with the biscuit. Realistically I should’ve gone for the plain digestive but the pack was almost twice the size! There was no justification for me to buy a massive pack of plain digestives instead of half a pack of dark chocolate ones. NOT MILK CHOCOLATE.

Breakfast was a bit of a rush, so that was a complete fail. There is no recommendation anywhere that says its ok to have three biscuits and a cup of tea for breakfast - no nutritional benefit whatsoever other than to keep me going. Will not be repeating that scenario.

Also, just in case you’ve noticed, I do like my meat fairly rare and thus the extraordinary pink piece of steak on my dinner plate. It was also rather rewarding cooking my own planned dinner after a bout of exercise, not tiring at all. A word of warning to those that try and build up a mental block against preparing your own food after a hard workout.

Verdict: Loving the crunchy veg.
